RIDING SCHOOL AT THE BURN EQUESTRIAN CENTRE
The Burn Equestrian Centre at Knockbracken as an approved BHS Riding School and a Pony Club accredited Teaching Centre.
Our highly trained Teaching Staff are BHS qualified.
We are an ideal place to learn to ride, or improve on existing skills and can teach almost anyone to ride a long as they are 6 years old and over.
We have a large range of well schooled horses and ponies to suit all abilities.
Clients are welcome to bring their own horses for their lesson. Our staff get satisfaction from helping both the horse and rider improve.
Our BHS qualified staff can cater for all ages and abilities - from beginners to the more advanced - and can teach you to ride the correct way. They are always happy to give clients advice on which lessons they would benefit from.
Children and adults are catered for separately, and family groups are welcome.
We offer Private (one-on-one) and Group Lessons. We can also offer discounts on block bookings.
Please note that all new clients to our Riding School must complete a 30 minute Assessment Lesson. These are £10 per person. This allows the teaching staff to assess ability, experience and level of competence.
They must also complete and sign a Rider Registration Form.
The Riding School can provide riding boots, hats, and other equipment if necessary, free of charge.
Clients are asked to wear tracksuit bottoms or jodhpurs. Jeans should not be worn as this looks unprofessional and will also nip the legs.
Riders must arrive 15 minutes before the start of their lesson to get prepared and sign the registration form.
Assessment Lesson
All riders, novice riders and beginners, regardless of experience and ability, must take a 30 minute assessment lesson.
The purpose of this lesson is to allow the teaching staff to properly match each rider to the appropriate horse/pony, and assess experience and level of competence.
Private (one-on-one) Lesson
This type of lesson is recommended for more advanced riders with particular requirements. But can also be used to boost confidence and ability in new riders.
Group Lesson
The group lessons are graded according to each riders ability and age. We try to group riders with the same ability and age together.
